About us

Since its foundation in 2001, the 227 group of companies has focused on providing high-quality services in executive search, recruitment and selection, and interim management. In its early years, our activities were centred on the content industry, where we served renowned clients in the media and publishing sector under the names 227 Search and later 227 Media. Our Founder and Managing Director, Geert Meijer, also has his roots in this sector, as does Partner Peter Hendriks. Both held various management positions within the industry at companies such as Wolters Kluwer and Springer (now Springer Nature).

In 2015, we broadened our scope with the launch of 227 Learning, an executive search and recruitment company specialising in the niche market of (E-)Learning. Our clients include educational publishers, e-learning providers, EdTech companies, training organisations, knowledge institutes, and educational institutions. That same year, we launched 227 Data, one of the pioneers in the recruitment of data analytics professionals. We connect mid-level and senior data analytics experts in the United Kingdom with leading organisations, ranging from large corporations to scale-ups and SMEs. We also serve numerous clients in the government and non-profit sectors.

As data analytics continues to mature and data has become one of the most critical assets for both the business community and government, we are seeing an increasing number of leadership roles emerging within the data domain. Many organisations already have, or are considering introducing, a Chief Data Officer position. Even more have long appointed a VP Data or Director of Analytics. And the many teams established in recent years require capable team leads. It is precisely for these positions and professionals that we launched 227 Data Leaders in June 2024. In recent years, we have successfully completed dozens of executive search assignments for leadership roles in data, and at 227 Data Leaders, this is our sole focus.
